Very good breakfast. A little pricey in my opinion for breakfast $25 for two people. But I would go again.

Very cool blues playing in the background. I had cinnamon Apple French toast, with sautéed apples; delicious! The waitress is great and she remembered us from a couple months ago and where we were sitting!

Just OK. Slow service and OK food. There's much better breakfast places in town to go to with better service and really yummy breakfasts. I had an omelet that was just good, but nothing special and they don't even serve homefries with their omelets! Portions sizes are small (which is good since you're not leaving there stuffed), and I would expect more for my money. Server was nice enough, but it was only her and it took forever to get more coffee at our table. I'd rather go somewhere else for breakfast.

My favorite diner in South County. Clean and simple - trains, blues, and good food - perfect.

We've been meaning to stop at this place for ages and yesterday was the day. Cozy place with bright light coming in the large front windows makes for a pleasant atmosphere. Until you hit the chaos. One server, no busboy and one cook. On a busy Sunday. Trying to keep up. Dirty plates and cups stacked everywhere on the bar area (only saw one person actually sit down there to eat, so I think it always serves a landing zone for mess). No coffee for 15 mins Server was pleasant enough but wow was she all over the place. Food was yummy - we had buttermilk pancakes, sausage, and one of the specials, crunchy french toast (basically french toast coated with granola before frying). Coffee was also very good - strong but not battery acid. I did get to laughing with the server a bit ( she WAS nice) and asked about a busboy and she brushed it off as if this was normal. I don't know...a couple things seem pretty basic in a local cafe/diner - good coffee and food, which they have. But what they need to work on badly is service, both food and removal. Stacking dirty plates and cups in plain site by the area where hot food comes out is not acceptable.

I am sitting here right now, it took 20 min for anyone to acknowledge my presence; another 20 to get a coffee and orange juice.....I wish I had a bazooka so I could blow this place uo so no one else can come here.....oh and they only fill the coffee cup up halfway....what is this the great depression? We're rationing coffee?

The was was pretty good but the portions were small. With that being said the prices were very cheap.

Basic breakfast fare, decent food. I give the place 2 stars because the wait staff is absolutely disorganized and whoever owns/manages the place never seems to understand that when there is something going on at URI, they need to have extra staff. One time we went during the URI balloon festival and they had ONE waitress. I am not kidding. Today, soccer tournaments at URI, the place is packed and they have TWO waitresses. It took almost a half hour to get our order placed. I had to ask to have her take our order afyer she brought our drinks 15 minutes prior abd she said she "forgot". This has happened to us more than just these 2 times so I know it's not a coincidence, it's extremely poor planning on the management's part. If you're going to go, make sure the parking lot is empty so they can handle having you.

This is where you want to eat for comfort food in south Rhode Island - from the constant blues soundtrack to the real home made Johnny cakes! Yummy satisfying and down to earth delicious. Try a club sandwich on white bread of course or any omelette but don't forget the Johnny cakes - thy a re a Rhode Island legend but now kind of hard to find. Come to the station house and have hospitality and a great meal.

Yes, 5 stars for breakfast, a first for me! A clean, bright small diner. Great to stop by on a motorcycle or with a family for breakfast. Menu has the standard fare with a twist! decent prices.

So glad we spotted this place on our way out of S. Kingston on our way home to PA. Very clean, casual, good prices. Food was good. We stopped mid-morning and all had breakfast. My omelet was great. It was spinach, mushroom and swiss. It was done a bit different from what I'm used to and I was a bit nervous about it when it was put in front of me, but it was really good! My son had the cinnamon toast fresh toast. He was in heaven. Waitress was great. Super sweet. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we'll definitely be stopping in again when we're around.

Just the perfect stop on our way from Jamestown RI to PA... Great breakfast and delightful people! Clean and bright with tons of choices for breakfast! Great service!!

We just had a great breakfast. Eggs over easy, bacon, potatoes, and toast all perfectly cooked. My wife had the veggie omelet, also perfect. Service is attentive and friendly. The coffee was marginal, however. If you are in the area, go here for a 5 star breakfast!

I like this place. It is convenient, low-key, and inexpensive. I stop for breakfast on my way from here to there. The food comes out quickly. There is nothing fancy about this place. The service is a bit inconsistent but I'm not sure what the answer is - only one lady takes care of all of the tables! She is as efficient as she can be. Sometimes there aren't too many people there, other times there are more, and she hops around taking care of everyone and chatting up the regulars. I usually have eggs for breakfast - mostly "The Regional" omelet with potatoes, bacon, and onions folded inside the eggs. The omelet is huge and comes with a side of toast. Most days I can get out of the Station House for about $10. I see the Station House has information on their tables and on the sign out front about a new dinner menu certain days of the week. I'm interested in trying dinner there. Hopefully soon.

Lovely spot! Very reasonably priced for a delicious breakfast. Solid breakfast basics along with some delicious specials. My kid had cinnamon bun french toast which smelled amazing. The special omelet choices were impressive. From my spot in the back I had a fairly clear view of the kitchen, which is usually a bad thing, but I was pleased to see that the two very busy chefs were working clean. The service was slow, but I can't fault the two waitresses who were working very hard, there just weren't enough of them.

Their cook does something unknown with their home fries. It is mysterious and magical and simply incredible. Never had I had anything like it. Perhaps they were seasoned from the spices of ancient roots or from the sacrifice of live farm animals but it was easily the best homefries or hash browns I've ever had. My order of johnny cakes came with a sausage patty and some eggs for $5.50. The side of home fries was another $2 but oh so worth it. The service was friendly and quick and I really enjoyed the all-wood decor of their simplistic but attractive restaurant.

No pretension here, just a good American menu that's not too expensive. I go here a lot for lunch with my son who goes to URI. They serve breakfast all day, so I usually get an omelet. The turkey rueben is good too, as is the BLT. Ditto to David Y - great homefries. The potato salad and coleslaw are good too. The service is excellent; I never have to ask for a coffee refill! I'm far from a die hard blues fan, but enjoy the blues station they have playing most of the time.

Awful stay away! The owner is seriously unstable, the food is average at best and the prices for what you get are outrageous. If you are in a hurry and simply want a sandwich in less than 2 hours go somewhere else. Back story- We stopped by this place as it was near the University of Rhode Island where we were for a soccer tourney. There were 14 of us and the place was just emptying out from previous diners. They were obviously very busy and the waitress was doing her best to keep up. When we had been waiting 45 minutes for our drinks and a few meals had been served one of my friends got up and asked the person who was behind the counter if we could have an OJ and a coffee for the people who had gotten their food.(we had asked the waitress but honestly she was so busy she couldn't keep up) He told her that "he wasn't getting involved with that"....Are we kidding?!! When we were told how it was handled and we were discussing it at the table the person she had asked was irate and carrying on like a lunatic after having been called out on such ridiculous behavior. We were told he was the owner. I nearly hit the floor. After 2 hours of waiting for our entire party (who were not seated together by the way) to finally get food and drink we were leaving when he approached the woman who had asked for drinks to apparently apologize. When she mentioned he might like to carry himself in a more profession manner as a proprietor he lost it again and asked us not to return. We will happily comply and hope you do too. We would hate to put another dollar in this persons pocket. Should you choose to patronize this establishment I hope you are treated MUCH better. Happy Dining :)

Mediocre at best. I ordered a side of corned beef hash for 4.75 and got two tablespoons of potatoes with some fatty red stuff that vaguely resembled corned beef. My eggs and hash browns were okay but the portions were tiny.

Monday afternoon. Going home from seeing the man. I'm not feeling great but need coffee. I have a migraine that hasn't quit since Saturday Morning. Pardon me my eyeballs want to fall out of my head. We enter and there is a false wall in front of us. A white board with specials sits on the padded bench greeting us with the days lunch specials, all for $8. A Pastrami sandwich, a Turkey Pesto on pita bread and about 4 more that my mind doesn't catch. I'm really thinking of the coffee and don't even care if it's cruddy diner-in-the-woods coffee which I'm expecting. A table of four, a family consisting of obviously URI students and their parents sits in the middle of the restaurant. The kids tie is askew. Medium light wood paneling lines the inside of the restaurant. It's a homey kind of simple that is not painful on the eyes but I hesitate as my Mom just chooses a table and sits down. "Can we do that?" I ask while no one prevents us. An older woman (not matronly, but with a gentle smile and the question of drinks on her lips,) approaches us after we seat ourselves. Coffee and Iced Tea. There are a bank of windows next to me looking out over the parking lot and into the road that passes over the train station tracks before running past the restaurant. I can't really call this place a diner although the food dictates it. Breakfast all day and lunch with dinner being served on limited days. The menus are at the tables convenient and clean and clear. Alright prices, not cheap cheap but reasonable. I think of ordering the Grilled cheese with tomato, my stomach isn't feeling too good. It's a bargain at $4.60 (I think at least it was close to that,) and comes with fries. But I'm afraid it might be butter laden and go with the turkey club. That's $8 like the specials and I can always take home what I haven't eaten. The other table leaves. We are alone in the restaurant but it is not too dark, not too bright here by the window. The cook and the waitress, the only two other people I see here are busy with the orders. It is quiet and the best place outside of home that I can imagine to be with a migraine. This place really is a very clean diner. I wouldn't call it a greasy spoon though. The food is simple. The plates are white ceramic diner style. The coffee is not strong but it is solid and good and real and not gritty or bitter or pretentious. It made my day. I drank 2 cups but not before our food comes out. "The pita is one of the modern types," Mom comments. Not like the old school fall apart types that became popular in the 80s in RI. It's more like the round flat breads that are softer and don't open into a pocket that are being made today. Filled with real turkey, not the sliced deli processed stuff with lettuce, tomatoes and pesto inside. Mom ordered a coleslaw as the side. It's shredded long and thin with a minimum of dressing, Basic and a little vinegary, how I like it. Real turkey comes on my white bread (I forgot to order wheat!) Triple decker, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Simple but good. The fries are those chunky ones but they are crisp and not greasy. The cook knows how to deep fry and thats very helpful to my stomach today. We finish as a man enters and goes to the back of the restaurant. We pay and go. Simple, easy and pleasant. This place has been here for a long time and has changed hands more than once my Mom informs me. She has worked at and gone to school at URI most of my life. I basically was raised on campus. It's been a breakfast/lunch place for a very long time. The parking lot out back is not easily seen but has more space than needed for the medium sized dining room. Sometimes it looks very busy, I don't know this is the first time I've been here. Not the first time for Mom who used to get breakfast before going on sampling trips back when she worked. I'd definitely come in again. Especially when it's not too busy.

A nice little place to stop and get breakfast while you are traveling through the area. Easily located off of rt.138, the parking lot is fairly large so finding a place won't be a problem. It does get petty crowded on weekends, but the wait usual isn't too bad The breakfast food is excellent with different types of omelets and pancakes and egg type dishes. All the food seems fresh and cooked just right and is quite an enjoyable way to have breakfast. they even have the old fashion Rhode Island johnny cakes and excellent coffee Not a gourmet type of restaurant but a very nice place for a quick breakfast. The old train pictures on the wall add a little interested to the place.
